Searching for Active and passive Checks overview

The other day I was created parameters for active check period. After finding out that there was still the notification, we found out that process was passive check. That works

My question:
Is there a list of what checks are active checks and what are passive checks? I couldn’t find this in documentation.

This may give you better explanation what is the difference between the two:

  • Other than that, your Check_MK service check is Active check and the rest of the service checks are Passive.
Also, any check that is configured via the ruleset [Active checks (HTTP, TCP,) etc.] under WATO >> Host and service parameters is also an active check.

Hmm this will help me. So a list of this is not present oke.
So I will have to teach my users  . I must agree that is was quit confusing when both option are show under parameters

Take a look at the service list of some host. The “Reschedule” icon (two rounded arrows forming a circle) has a different color for active and for passive checks.:

Also the mouse-over popup message gives you a hint.

The “Reschedule” icon might be hidden inside the action menu icon (three horizontal lines). Icon display and order can be customized in Global settingsBuiltin icon visibility.
