- HW/SW Inventory (Service Check Timed Out) ,
- Discovery (Service Check Timed Out)**
Hello,
we have a couple of host which are running only a few hours a day. When those hosts came up,
we get an Service Check Timed Out Error for the HW/SW Inventory and Discovery Checks.
I think the reason is clear. “HW/SW Inventory” and “Discovery” are “Active Checks”. So they will
also run when a host is down and the check naturally runs in an timeout.
One solution (which solves the problem) is to run the checks for example every five minutes.
But especially for the “HW/SW Inventory Check” this is not really a desirable solution.
We recently updated checkmk from 2.0.0p9 to 2.2.0p17. Before the update we do not
see this behaviour.
Does anybody expecting the same problems and how to deal with the situation?
