(snmp) item not found in monitoring data

**CMK version:**2.1 p19
**OS version:**Oracle Linux 7.9

Error message: “item not found in monitoring data”

Output of “cmk --debug -vvn hostname”: (If it is a problem with checks or plugins)

Hello,

for quite some time we see the following issue on a 2.1 (currently p19) checkmk site for various switches: checkmk does not receive snmp information for a few items of some snmp monitored switches. Always are three items of a host affected, but not always the same three components. A 2nd query four minutes later always succeeds and receives snmp information for all items of a host:

The following settings apply currently to the host SW-DIR38-KZV:

Running the command ‘time cmk -nv sw-dir38-kzv’ in a terminal always returns within ca. 5 seconds. Most of the time the command reports the status of of all snmp components, very rarely an item is not found (similar to what is seen in the GUI)

As documented in Monitoring mit SNMP: Troubleshooting im Gott-Modus | Checkmk, we temporarely changed the snmp-mode from inline to net-snmp, which did not change the behaviour (no data received for a group of three snmp items of a switch host, and after 4 minutes all snmp item data are received).
I assume the issue is likely not a checkmk issue, but simply a problem of the device to always correctly provide the snmp data to checkmk.
Is there any way to mask the error in checkmk (i.e. by having checkmk ignore the first check, as the second check (the one after 4 minutes) seems to be always successful? Any other ideas how to troubleshoot, this, or how to get rid of the error message?

Thanks a lot,
Chris
