SNMP Traps - MIB / SNMP / OID Lookups

Hello,

I’m trying to add MIBS and monitor the Sandvine platform.

REF:

I’m new so please share a lot of details to help navigate to the solution …

I’ve recently setup the following events. However the MIBS are not translated as expected.

Issue (Example):

APPLICATION:

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.11610.1.7.1.4.1.2.0.4(The authoritative identification of the notification currently being sent. This variable occurs as the second varbind in every SNMPv2-Trap-PDU and InformRequest-PDU.)

We would expect:
“SANDVINE-PCMMSNMP-MIB::svDegradedSNMPRouteDiscoveryClearNotification”

We would expect this as the MIB contains this information:
"snmpwalk -v 2c 127.0.0.1 1.3.6.1.4.1.11610.1.7.1.4.1.2.0.4"
.
SANDVINE-PCMMSNMP-MIB::svDegradedSNMPRouteDiscoveryClearNotification

In all cases, I see the OID, and not the expected name = value?

As per Chapter 7.4, https://docs.checkmk.com/latest/en/ec.html#_uploading_your_own_mibs
The custom MIB’s/uploaded MIB’s go under ~/local/share/snmp/mibs.
Maybe that’s your problem?

No luck, copied the mibs and restarted all the services and still the same output.

Do you see the custom MIB’s being shown in the event console? WATO > Event Console > SNMP MIBs >> Custom MIB’s ?

Also, have you removed the custom MIB’s from the previous directory and make sure all your custom MIB’s are in local/share/snmp/mibs/

Have you also restarted the mkeventd ?

Either the MIB for enterprises.11610 ist still missing or these OIDs cannot be translated as they seem to contain a dynamic end with an ASCII-coded string.
