Is it possible to add some functionality that you can be notified when services became stale? Now when multiple services became stale there is no service state or possible notification config to get notified. There is offcourse a stale section in the overview in the mainscreen, but it needs attention as well as WARN and CRIT checks so maybe an own service state should be better.
- I have changed the category of this thread, because this is not feedback to our official user guide at docs.checkmk.com. That is what the category Feedback/Documentation is there for.
- When services go stale that should imply that the host they are on is down or at the very least the service Check_MK is critical. That should suffice for a proper notification. “Stale” is actually no monitoring state. It is merely a flag. In fact it was implemented to prevent a huge amount of notifications that might be wrong. A service on a host can, of course, still be perfectly fine, even if the host/agent on the host has become unreachable for your Checkmk server. This is also mentioned in our official guide: Notifications - via Email, SMS, Ticketsystems and more
