Storcli for LSI RAID

Hi,

we’ve upgraded our check-mk installation to Version 2.0p8 and did a upgrade on our agents as well. But after the upgrade our current check for the LSI RAID stopped working. We decided, because check-mk offers one, to move to the build-in storcli check. But there our problems start.

We copied the storcli64.exe into the folder that is mentioned in the storcli.bat, restart the check_mk service and ran a full scan on WATO but there is a warning message that the plugin has crashed.

Can anyone help us with this problem? How should it be configured right?

Cheers,
Shorty

Hi @_shorty

you are not supposed to execute the LSI RAID check with MRPE.
The LSI RAID Check is a standalone Checkmk Plugin.

Please place the storcli.bat in the ProgramData Plugin folder and edit the StorCLI.exe path inside the .bat file if needed.

Remove the mrpe section inside your config file and let checkmk execute the .bat file via the plugin section inside your config yml. I currently dont’t have an config example for you but if needed I can provide one later.

This should make it work again :grinning:

Hi @Norm ,

That would be great.
Thanks a lot.

Sorry for the late reply

But here’s your configuration example:

check_mk.user.yml

plugins:
    enabled: yes
    execution:
        - pattern : '$CUSTOM_PLUGINS_PATH$\storcli.bat'
          run : yes
          async : yes
          cache_age : 300
          timeout : 120

This is just an example of a possible configuration. You can edit it like you want or need it.

I hope this helps you a bit more and remember to copy the storcli.bat to your custom plugins path. And make sure the Path to your storcli inside the batch file is correct.

Greetings Norm :grinning:
