Support of CentOS 8 Stream

Hi,
is CentOS 8 Stream also supported to run cmk on it?

The docs say “Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and CentOS from Version 7.x” which does not explicit include or exclude that version.

HI @MightyDinosaurus
afaik centos 8 is also supported. You’ll find official installation Instructions here:

So it should be supported.
regards

I copied the quoted text from this page, but its not clear if even CentOS 8 Stream is supported.
I am not asking about the version 8, I am asking about the Stream “Edition”. And yes, it is working on Centos 8 Stream. The question, is it supported from vendor?

The problem with “moving target” distributions is that it’s hard to guarantee support. Especially if those using the distribution are at very different patch levels.

With that said, Stream isn’t a “rolling distribution”. So, a bit more controlled, but it comes without as much assurance as the old CentOS way. That is, “it shouldn’t break anything, but it might… and we’re sorry”.

And with that said, it’s also possible that CentOS Stream is more stable than some existing “controlled” distributions that are supported. You never know.
