The New Checkmk Exchange is Here!

looks updated :+1:

But as @andreas-doehler already mentioned the “improved search” is not really what we as users would expect. filtering for versions is a must, like you do it with the werks site.

Cheers

We are currently changing the search on the packages overview pages so that it will be more consistent and inline with the search in the header.
Regarding filtering for versions. That will need to be refined further and is on the roadmap for @Sara to look into.

Hi @foobar !

As Baris mentioned, it is on my list of tasks to look into it and refine it, so the filter could be implemented.

It is likely that once I start working on this I will need some contributor insights – will it be ok if I contact you about this?

While you are at it

I am not able to upload new packages any more.

The error message is: “The author field has invalid content”.

My packages contain “Robert Sander <r.sander@heinlein-support.de>” in the author field as can be seen here: check_mk_extensions/vertiv_geist_pdu/vertiv_geist_pdu at cmk2.3 · HeinleinSupport/check_mk_extensions · GitHub

What is the invalid content?

Hi Robert!

Baris’s team will check what could be wrong there.

Hi @Sara and @baris.leenders ,

any news on the invalid content in the author field?

I would like to be able to upload packages again.

Hi @r.sander !

It is in progress – we expect it to be working again within the week.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

If it is very urgent, it should also be possible to change the author in the MKP – the issue is with the < > symbols.

I have another problem with the current exchange state.
The upload of packages is possible but i cannot see my own packages - only if i search for these packages.
Problem is - i uploaded a new package and cannot find it later anymore as it is under review and could not be found in the search function. :frowning:

Hi @andreas-doehler !

Just to make sure – this was not a problem before the update?
Thanks!

It was working after the update i think but not sure.
But now after login

The selection is missing for the own packages.
Beside “Profile” there where one more option that shows all the uploaded packages.
At the moment i can only search select one of my packages and then select my username to see all packages.
But you only see packages that are visible for all not the under review ones.

Got it, thanks!
Will create a ticket on that.

Hi Robert!

The Author field issue should be fixed now.

There is now a “My packages” item in the dropdown. It shows all your packages.

It looks like there are (important) informations missing in the package information.
In my case i miss the maximum Checkmk version a package is for.

Also the Note/Warning that a package is for Checkmk 2.0 or hier sould be removed

Note: This version requires Checkmk version 2.0.0 or higher.

A nother thing i noted, if you go under Versions and have a look at the package description, the (text) formating is completely gone.

Hi @thl-cmk
Thank you for taking the time to report this!

I have added the idea about the maximum version into my list of improvements.

The note about the 2.0 is already very high on the list – I definitely agree it is not very informative, especially after we archived the packages that only had old versions.

About the description – could you please send me the link to the broken one?
I will discuss again with the devs whether we could fix it overall, but in the meantime I could just fix the specific package, I have not seen too many being broken recently.
