Cisco Meraki special agent description versus Cisco Meraki special agent all versions
@Sara one more thing I am missing in the New Exchange. There is still no option for package owners to respond to reviews, or is there?
Hi @thl-cmk !
At the moment no, there is not, but it already has a special ticket and I discussed it with the web development, should be possible to implement ![]()
thats good ![]()
In the mean time I will not upload anything to the Exchange, even considering to remove my content. Why? Because these reviews create a bad picture of my work and i don’t like this.
Cheers
Thomas
Why not completely deactivate this feature or bug. I also had the problem with complete useless reviews.
I second that (even when I’ve no plugin uploaded yet)!
How could it be that guys that share their hard work then may be dissed without any chance to respond?
The only chance they have is what Thomas mentioned: remove their plugins, and I’m sure that nobody wants that!
Cheers,
Christian
Hi Thomas,
I am so sorry to hear about this.
I do not (technically) have the option of looking through those reviews and moderate them in bulk. If you received something unacceptable, could you please send me the link to the package, it is possible that I could moderate those in the meantime?
You are correct that nobody wants that. Let me see if I can prioritise turning this option off until we come up with a solution that would allow responding. Do you think that would be a good solution for you in the long run too, @thl-cmk ?
@Sara to be fair, the review (s) in question where not unacceptable. Just “only” needed an Answer to make some things clear.
Here the reviews:
I think this was because of wrong configuration of the host object, no fault of my plugin
and the latest
There is an option in the agent configuration, to not create piggyback data…
I see, thank you!
From the perspective of the author of a package – is it more about the irrelevant review/ non-representative rating or the inability to respond for you?
Why I am asking – this would help me to possible reprioritise this a little in the longer run.
For now, as an immediate action, I contacted the devs in regards to temporarily removing reviews from the exchange.
In the end it’s both. If there is a review that needs clarification and you can not… This looks like you don’t care, and I care about my work…
I understand your concern – I also care that the community resources we have are friendly to everyone and a nice place to be in or present your work.
Do I understand it correctly, that if you could respond, it would resolve the issue?
Yes. …
What might help is the ability to include an URL to the issue tracker, not just to the plugin’s home/web page. Maybe that would steer some people to use that, which might be much more suited for an actual conversation or actual bug triaging.
Hi @thl-cmk !
Just a quick update – the reviews are gone for now, until we update the feature with a respond option, or find a better solution.
Hi @Sara
I see you’re taking this seriously ![]()
This was not really what I wanted, but if that’s the only solution at the moment…
About my engagement on the Exchange, I will wait for the “better solution”.
Perhaps a small announcement would be good to make the change transparent, especially for those who are not following this thread.
Cheers,
Thomas
Turning off the reviews for now is a temporary solution, but I cannot currently say when we would be able to introduce the updated Reviews. The plan is to introduce the possibility to reply to the review, thus leaving it up to the author of the package how to reply or maybe redirect to a better discussion place – if you think some other idea could work better, please let me know.
Same problem here
No chance to answer or comment
As the plugin is working on my 2.4 systems i think it is a user error here.
@Sara, I understand that the Exchange is not the best place for discussions. On the other hand, I expect to be able to respond to reviews in the same place where the reviews are posted. I don’t think @mbunkus’ idea of referring users to an issue tracker solves the problem, as users don’t always use the tools as intended ![]()
What I could imagine would be to host the reviews in the forum. One channel per MKP under the Exchange category. This channel should be linked directly in the Exchange. So that when a user wants to write a review, they are taken directly to this channel.
