Dear Checkmk users,
18 years ago, Mathias launched the project Check_MK. What began as a monitoring add-on has grown into a comprehensive IT infrastructure monitoring solution. In 2018, Mathias passed the torch to Jan, our CEO, to build a solid foundation for Checkmk’s future.
Since then, we’ve grown significantly – from 1,000 to over 4,000 enterprise customers, and tens of thousands of open-source users. To meet your growing needs, Checkmk expanded from 20 employees to 200 employees during that time.
As users, you have witnessed the transformation Checkmk has undergone. We have broadened our monitoring capabilities to support hybrid IT infrastructures, redesigned our entire user interface, introduced APIs for development and automation, rebuilt the underlying monitoring engine, launched new products, and much more. What once was a small mailing list with a single person answering most mails is now a thriving forum with thousands of users. What once was a 1000+ page user manual is now a proper documentation.
Today marks the beginning of the next phase of Checkmk. We are excited to announce our partnership with PSG, a leading growth equity firm, and a strategic investment that will provide the resources necessary to fuel further innovation and growth. It was essential for us to find a partner who not only shares our vision for Checkmk’s future, but also wants to accelerate the direction we are already headed.
We have already ramped up our hiring and are looking to grow our team strongly this year. We will continue to invest strongly into user experience, quality, security and fundamentally building more and better features.
