Topology map blank after changes to administrator roles Nagvis

CMK version: 2.2.0p8
OS version: RHEL 8.2

Error message:

Output of “cmk --debug -vvn hostname”: (If it is a problem with checks or plugins)

The default topology map showind parent/child is empty. This is after I tried setting yes to the NagVis perssions in the admin role. I reversed the changes (going back to default) but the topology map is now empty.

How do I reverse and get the map working again?

I updated to 2.3.9p7 but the problem remains

Correction: I updated to 2.3.0p7 but the problem remains

Hi @arvid,

can you please share a screenshot of your issue?

Do you have the parents of the hosts configured in Checkmk?

Thanks in advance!
Norm

Norm,

Screenshot attached - it does not show much as the map is empty - that is the problem.

Yes, parents are configured.

Hi @arvid,

thanks for sharing this.
Seems a little strange to me, and I didn’t encounter this issue so far.
But can your user view all the hosts in the other views? Does it have the right permissions for that?

What looks weird to me is that your headline is different to mine. Yours called Topology for
but mine for example is called Topology for Parent / Child. This looks broken to me.

Can you try this URL with your parameters (DOMAIN.TLD and sitename) and see if it’s the same behavior? https://DOMAIN.TLD/sitename/check_mk/parent_child_topology.py

Thanks in advance!

Regards
Norm

Norm,

Found a solution: Delete the layout. This fixes the problem with the filter not working.

Why? How? No idea.
