Virtual smtp server monitoring

Hi,

Has anyone found a way to monitor a virtual smtp server within IIS .6.0?

I have the windows smtp service monitored fine, however if the virtual smtp server is stopped, it doesn’t stop the windows smtp service which makes that check not very practical.

I do not have an answer as this is quite uncommon. However if you can query the state of your virtual server using PowerShell or similar you can write a local check that reports the state.
