windows_updates.vbs and defender definition updates

We use the windows_updates plugin to monitor the windows update status. Unfortenatly we do experience problem with that the check trigger on defender definition updates that is being automatically installed direct(within a hour or so) and not waiting for the windows update setting for installation of other patches.

Anyone that has been able to solve this in a smart way?

Building a “real” plugin and adding the possibility to exclude packages should be a solution.

Just for any others looking here…

I have forked the Windows Updates - K&P Computer package from the CheckMK Exchange to always ignore Defender definition updates.

You can use it to replace the original checkmk windows updates plugin.
