We have a Room Alert 3E and are wanting to add it in to check_mk/WATO. We are running check_mk Raw 1.6.0p22. I saw another thread about it here:
but the MKP that is linked is for an older version of check_mk (1.2.8p6), and will not show as available in my check_mk. Another post in the thread points to a Nagios check, but unfortunately I can’t seem get it to return the correct temperature value (I am using the correct OID and when I use it with SNMPwalk, I get the correct temperature value but when I use it int he script, it just returns “0” for the internal and external temperatures)
I am wondering if there might be an updated version of the check for check_mk, or if there are any other suggestions?
Just an update here… looks like if I try to do an SNMP check via SNMPWalk or the Nagios check_snmp applet, the SNMP connection to the RoomAlert 3E times out, but if I SNMPWalk it from another PC (which is doing from over a VPN connection), it works.
The check_mk monitoring server is able to ping the RoomAlert’s IP address, and as far as I can see, there are no IP filters on the RoomAlert.
OK, so the Nagios check-roomalert.pl scripts does indeed work fine and returns correct values. The issue appears to be the fact that for some reason, SNMP probes are being blocked from my monitoring server, which should be a networking issue and nothing to do with check_mk (I have SNMP alerts setup for other hosts that work just fine)
Once I resolve that issue, then I should be able to get the checks working via this script.
