CPU Utilization Item not found in monitoring data Linux Containers

Hi Checkmk Community,

Since upgrading from checkmk-ce 1.6.0.p24 to checkmk-ce 2.x (curently 2.0.0p15) we have noticed the
CPU Utilization statistics are no longer being reported for our Linux Container systems
hosted on Proxmox VE (7.0-13).

Error is “CPU Utilization - Item not found in monitoring data”

The Linux Containers are running a variety of Debian 10, 11 and Rocky Linux 8 OS.

Checkmk 2.x displays CPU Utilization statistics for the QEMU/KVM systems hosted on the same Proxmox VE hosts correctly.

Any suggestions on how to solve this would be appreciated.

This is a known issue, and is related to missing support for CGroups v2. See

Hi folks! On my CMK RAW Installation (2.0.0p7), I’m monitoring multiple Docker nodes, 2 of them are Debian 11, Kernel 5.10, Docker 20.10.7, Python 3.9, python3-docker 4.1.0. The agent Plugin is delivering more data and other keys in the JSON dict, than on the older Docker nodes. Release Werk 12307 "add cgroup v2 support for docker and lxc" in cmk 2.0.10

Hey, don’t know if this really applies as a “Product Idea” but since Proxmox 7 and Debian 11 in general have been release maybe it would be good to relase Werk 12307 within CheckMK 2.0 rather than waiting for 2.1. At least the werk says it’s planned for 2.1. and i guess 2.1. is still a little bit away from being released? Thanks and best regards Michael
