Is it possible to specify a checkmk agent to send SNMP checks from

Basically, I have a number of locations tunneled together via a ZeroTier network allowing agents to run at a number of separate locations. I would like to use the agent located in building A to monitor network switches and access points in building A while also using the agent located in building B to monitor switches and access points in building B all via SNMP.

Is there a way to specify which agent monitors which hosts?

Hi UnnamedEngineer and welcome to the community,

i think the question is exactly what this discussion was about  SNMP Monitoring from an agent rather than server?

Talking about different locations it would makes sense to set up a distributed monitoring, where the satellites “locally” fetch the data of the SNMP devices and you have central site that combines configuration and monitoring information of all sites in a single place.

You are correct, after a number of google searches I hadn’t found any info on distributed monitoring yet. Immediately after posting this thread I found it in the settings and just completed a successful test.
