i think the question is exactly what this discussion was about 
SNMP Monitoring from an agent rather than server?
Talking about different locations it would makes sense to set up a distributed monitoring, where the satellites “locally” fetch the data of the SNMP devices and you have central site that combines configuration and monitoring information of all sites in a single place.
