Parsing of section infoblox_temp failed

Hello everyone. I’m facing the following problem. Can someone help? What else shall I troubleshoot?

CMK version:
Checkmk Raw Edition 2.2.0p9

OS version:
Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS

Description of the problem:
I’m monitoring several Infoblox devices (VMs) out of an Infoblox Grid. Everything works fine except this error which I get on every single VM. The Infoblox firmware version is NIOS 9.0.1.

Error message:
Parsing of section infoblox_temp failed - please submit a crash report! (Crash-ID: 345d646c-5a12-11ee-ab37-2fd85ca21da2)

Output of “cmk --debug -vvn hostname”:
(wow, this is a hard one, since the output displays my SNMPv3 keys in plaintext…)

OMD[weberlab]:~$ cmk --debug -vvn infoblox.weberlab.de

For this problem a “cmk --debug -vvI hostname” would be better. Here we should see an error from the respective check discovery function.
Only this part then is needed not the whole output.

This happens only on RAW edition or classic SNMP backend as the system needs to call snmpwalk for every table column it fetches.

Hey @andreas-doehler. Thanks for that. Gotcha.

For whatever reason, your proposed command does not output anything:

OMD[weberlab]:~$ cmk --debug -vvl infoblox.weberlab.de
OMD[weberlab]:~$

Can I test something else?

Upper case “i” not “l”

I would disable the infoblox_temp SNMP section for all VM hosts.
It is strange that it looks like some data comes but on VM you should not have any temperature data

Ah ok, that’s why I’m seeing this error. Thanks.

This check is not configurable through the checkmk GUI, right? I cannot find it. I merely enabled SNMP for these devices, done.

Wouldn’t it be better to fix this kind of issue in general? Something like “If there’s no temperature, skip”, or “if device = VM, skip” or the like?

Hello @andreas-doehler i have the same problem as Webernetz with infoblox_temp. How and where should you deactivate this?

“Disabled or enabled sections (SNMP)” is the correct rule.
